rnc-2016-night-2-rating

The second night of the Republican National Convention didn’t draw as big an audience as either Monday’s coverage or the comparable night four years ago.

A combined 19.4 million people watched on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, CNN and MSNBC. That’s down from 22.53 million for the opening night of the festivities on Monday, and also down from the Tuesday audience for the 2012 RNC, 20.57 million. (That was the first night of full coverage, and the networks and major cable news channels only offered three nights of coverage.

Fox News led in total viewers again with 5.26 million (vs. 6.35 million Monday and 6.88 million in 2012). NBC led the news demo of adults 25-54 with a 1.3 rating, with an assist from “America’s Got Talent” as a lead-in.

Below are the numbers from Tuesday’s 10 p.m. ET coverage and the two-day average for the convention thus far.
