Late-night ratings, August 1-5, 2016: NBC wins the week
In the week of August 1-5, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” landed the top spot in the 11:35 p.m. time slot once again with a 0.86 rating in adults 18-49, a noticeable increase from some of its previous numbers thanks to a highly rated show following the Olympics opening ceremony on Friday. Meanwhile, “The Late Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live” scored 0.46 and 0.45 ratings, respectively.
NBC continued to dominate the week as well, with “Late Night with Seth Myers” leading the 12: 35 p.m. time slot with a 0.36, 0.06 and 0.07 higher than both “Nightline” on ABC and “The Late Late Show” on CBS.
Here are the late-night numbers for August 1-5, 2016.
Note: “The Tonight Show” was delayed on Aug. 5 by an Olympic overrun, while the other NBC late night programming that night was preempted. Both “Kimmel” and “Late Late Show” aired encores that night as well.
