Showtime has ordered a fifth season of its drama series “Ray Donovan.”

The channel announced the pickup Thursday at the summer TV press tour. Season 5 will run for 12 episodes, as past years have, and go into production in early 2017 for a premiere later in the year.

The series earned five Emmy nominations this year, the most in its history. Liev Schreiber, Jon Voight and Hank Azaria all received acting nods, showrunner David Hollander picked up a directing nomination, and the show’s sound mixing team was also recognized.

To date, “Ray Donovan” is averaging a 0.3 same-day rating in adults 18-49 and 1.21 million viewers, down a little from Season 3’s 0.4 and 1.39 million. It typically doubles its 18-49 rating after a week of DVR viewing.
