Syndicated TV ratings, Aug. 1-7: ‘Judge Judy’ breaks ‘Family Feud’s’ streak
“Family Feud’s” run of nine straight weeks as the No. 1 weekday syndicated strip came to an end in the week of Aug. 1-7. “Judge Judy” edged back into the top spot with a 6.5 household rating for a week of reruns, topping “Family Feud” (6.4) by a tenth of a point.
“Feud” did continue its run as the No. 1 game show in syndication, a spot it’s held for 15 weeks in a row. “Live with Kelly” (2.5) narrowly beat “Dr. Phil” (2.4) as the week’s top talk show.

Why do you use household ratings here but nowhere else? Ad deals for syndicated shows are largely based on household ratings and, for daytime shows, ratings among women 25-54.
What about “The Simpsons”? “Simpsons” repeats in syndication are not counted in the weekly ratings because they don’t include any national advertising.
“Weekend Adventure” is a package of nature shows airing weekends on many ABC stations.
For syndicated shows airing on multiple days, the viewership is the average of all telecasts.
