Late-night ratings, Sept. 5-9, 2016: ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ rises

In the week of Sept. 5-9, “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” scored the top spot in the 11:35 p.m. time slot with a 0.97 rating in adults 18-49, notably higher than its previous 0.81. Meanwhile, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” ticked up from a 0.42 to a 0.52 on NBC.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” managed to beat CBS’ “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” once again as well with a 0.46, while “Colbert” continued to fall from a 0.39 to a 0.36. “The Late Late Show with James Corden” grabbed a 0.22 for the second week in a row also.

In cable, “Conan” fell from a 0.27 to a 0.21, while “The Daily Show” grabbed a 0.31 after pre-empted ratings in the previous week.

Note: On Sept. 8 all NBC shows were delayed by an NFL overrun. All Sept. 5 telecasts were excluded due to Labor Day as well, while and “Late Late Show” was an encore on Sept. 9.
