Still batting 1.000, CBS topped the broadcast primetime adults 18-49 rating for the fifth consecutive week of the broadcast primetime season averaging a 2.9 adults 18-49 rating. That’s only the third time in the 23 year history of Nielsen people meter measurement that a network has opened the season 5 for 5 (also NBC, ’88, ’97)

NBC boosted by the biggest Sunday Night Football audience ever moved into second place with a 2.7 rating average. ABC came in third (2.5), and Fox fourth (2.4).

CBS, as usual, topped the press release friendly, but advertiser ignored, average viewership for the week.

The network’s average viewership is charted in millions of viewers, just like we report all other average viewership information on the site, and adults 18-49 is charted as ratings points. Note the units (million viewers on the left, rating on the right) below the bars.

Each adults 18-49 rating point is a percentage of the adults 18-49 US TV population and equals 1.315 million adults 18-49.
