’s Nikki Finke has a story today that the CW is considering picking up two UK produced reality shows for this summer and rebroadcasting them, not remaking them.

If so, that’s an interesting move. Everything about the CW scheduling for the last several years screams “cost containment”. Their broadcast season airtime is filled with more repeats than the other broadcast competition, and all their scripted shows are produced by corporate parents CBS and Warner Brothers. I guess if obtained cheaply enough, the relative ratings increase over current CW repeats (which would likely garner microscopic repeat ratings in the summer) would justify the cost.
