The 163rd game of the regular season to decide whether the Detroit Tigers or Minnesota Twins would advance to the playoffs was the most-watched  televised game of the 2009 regular season averaging 6.543  million viewers watching on TBS Tuesday night.

The Twins won 6-5 in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the 12th inning.   The  game had a 27.1 rating in Minnesota and a 24.6 rating in Detroit.

The game outpaced last years tiebreaker between the Twins and Chicago White Sox by 57 percent.   The game was seen by 2.81 million adults 18-49.
