If you’re a fan of Castle, then be sure to check out some of Nathan Fillion’s other excellent TV shows and movies. He’s been in a lot of truly terrific stuff.

And don’t forget to look for the two published Castle novels, Heat Wave and Naked Heat (available everywhere that fine books are sold).

Great fun show, it’s as funny as procedurals can get with a wonderful cast that is really connected with the fans.

  3. Celeste

The show seems to becoming an insider’s joke book to Fillion’s career, it started as an okay diversion, not really taxing “who-dunnit.” But lately, the inside jokes, the running amouk of Fillion’s ego seem to be taking the fun out of the show.

The show runs on the charm of the ensemble, it need return to that to be 100% re-newable, 5-0 isn’t a strong contender but it will give the Castle gang a good run for the money. Especially since Castle skews much older than 5-0 (last I looked 5-0 was winning the 18-49 demo.)

I think this season is off to a great start. Unless they totally drop the ball with a crappy storyline, I’m with this show until the wheels fall off.

@ Celeste, Castle hasnt really been affected by 5-0 at all. both of them both scew older, but they also both have thier own audiences, and both hit atleast 10 million viewers a week. both of them have been quite consistant, and theres no reason why both cant exist.

Castle is a ‘must-see’ in our household. The chemistry of the cast is fantastic! I just hope the writers never let Castle and Beckett’s relationship change…..the cat and mouse game is great. The story lines are some of the best on TV. The final show of last season was fantastic!!!

  8. Rosanne

I LOVE Castle. It’s the cutest show on right now.

I think Castle stinks this season. I don’t like cat and mouse games. The mouse gets too damn tired of watching. The only reason the last episode of last season was so good was because all summer you kept thinking Castle would come back to Beckett and they would go off for the summer.

Not all shows have to be “Moonlighting” fated. This season the main characters act like Sonny and Cher right before the breakup. Too hostile, not funny, and definitely not as watchable. I’ll bet the ratings tank after DWTS finishes.

  10. LL DeOreleans

One wold think that today the writers had the insight and the talent that the Moonlighting series was good but that it failed for they tried to stretch the sexual tension to long. There are moment when it serenely is the thing that attracts the audience but you suck on the caramel to long and you are just sucking on nothing in the end. The plot line for the castle episodes have stood up well so far, but the handling of the main characters love attraction is now on its 3 inning. Yes we know the feel deeply for one another YES now the Characters have come to that same insight in to themselves, so what wold they go look for others to fill there romantic wishes. I get that it is more fun to wright fall in love story’s but it is more of a challenge and shows more skill to wright a loving mature relation with real life complications on a TV show. I love the characters and we all wish well for them and yee the show is to have mystery and not totally go lovey dovey on us, but isn’t it time we get to see just how Kate and Rick can complicate one another wile they are truly honest and true to themselves and eatschother. Also Commitment is tough and thee is bound to be just as many fun and comical complication in a plot line as it is in romantically maybe and possibly hints. Give us a episode when all falls together so fast even the characters are not sure of what they are suppose to do next only that they are now together and stuck to none another cause no one els comprehend them better then there PARTNER. And why have there yet to be undercover plot lines?? Requests form possible other law enforcement for our duo?? how about thous HISTORICAL back drops when the characters portray persons in historical themes? We have never seen any of the cases go to Cort when are thous plot lines? and WE want more episodes in the season. I am sure i have made some mad others unhappy but i love this show and want to see it keep on going for a long long time.

    @LL DeOreleans

You think we have it bad? Imagine how Bones’ fans feel!

I think the writers are doing a great job so far regarding “the relationship”. They are giving us little nuggets to gnaw on. I’m patient enough to see it fleshed out over the course of the season and even into a fourth (fingers crossed).

However, if they drag it out like the Bones’ writers have done, then I’ll probably give up.

I thoroughly enjoy the Castle shows but was shattered a while back when castle said
“South Africa only have two products – racial hatred and diamonds” but both of these are incorrect.
The management and writers of this show should be forced to apologise to South Africa.
Blood diamonds are from Congo and racial hatred is more prevalent in USA than here.
I will still watch the show and enjoy it all be it with a sense of disappointment that a respectable tv show should be so unnecessarily indiscrete.

My husband and I just love Castle. It’s the ONLY show we watch together! We are equally fascinated by its wit and inventiveness (which everyone acknowledges) but especially with how the two main characters are slowly growing as human beings.

Castle starts out good hearted but unabashadly shallow (basically a charming and brilliant, aging but not maturing rich spoiled brat) and Becket starts all controlling head and brittle heart (walled off and wounded as she was). Together, each of them is growing in every single episode toward a wholeness that would have been impossible without the other. And which could form a relationship with real staying power.

And unlike the oft-cited “Moonlighting” (where Willis never outgrew his ego-centrism and Shepherd remained as frozen as that fabled “ice princess” forever), Castle and Becket have all the potential for heart with smarts to keep us viewers glued to our TV sets loooonnng past the time when they get together!

And just the hope of such an inspirational TV innovation in a story arc makes me smile. From the inside out.

CASTLE is without a doubt the best show on evening tv right now! The casts’ chemistry is so real, we believe them on all accounts. I just don’t understand why Beckett and Castle can’t at least get engaged..they can stil work together, or would that ruin the cat and mouse chase that so often underlines the plot?
Sorry to see Montgomery go, but one thing he left out…who shot Becketts Mom? I would surmise that he/she is the person who shot Beckett tonite!?
My husband and I ran to the computer to check to see if this was the “last episode” or just the “season finale” after Beckett got shot…OMG! When she wakes up, in the season opener, I hope she heard Castle tell her that he loved her..she knew that anyway! We NEVER miss an episode! See you all in the fall!

  20. Jo Ann

I LOVE this series and hope tonight’s episode wasn’t the last, for Becket was shot at Montgomery’s funeral and appears to have died. So often an ending such as this is the network’s way of killing the series, which would be a grave mistake in this case. In general, just about every theme for shows luring and keeping interest, has been exhausted. “Comedy” is no longer humerous, yet if one watches the same network for an evening, some nights are a total waste. “Castle” has great script writers for exhilerating drama mixed with unspoken love and devotion to family. I have never been bored with a single episode, which is something I rarely can say. PLEASE DON’T END “CASTLE!”
