A down-to-the-wire college football game involving top-ranked Alabama provided big ratings for ESPN Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide’s matchup with Mississippi State drew 7.03 million viewers and 2.2 rating in adults 18-49, way above the 4.11 million and 1.2 for the top-rated game the previous Saturday. It was easily the top show on cable for the day.

Hallmark’s movie “The Sweetest Christmas” pulled in the biggest audience of the channel’s holiday movies so far this year with 3.88 million viewers and a 0.7 in adults 18-49. “Live PD” (0.7) was steady vs. the previous week, and “Dragon Ball Super” (0.4) rose a bit for Adult Swim.
