After a soft week to close out October, college football games on ESPN and Fox Sports 1 posted much better ratings on Saturday.

The top game of the day (Ohio State-Iowa on ESPN) drew 4.11 million viewers and a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49, leading the cable rankings in both categories. That’s up considerably from 1.93 million viewers and a 0.5 for the top-rated game the previous week.

Seven of the top 8 original shows on cable Saturday were college football-related. The lone exception was “Live PD” (0.7 in 18-49), which was up week to week.

Hallmark’s movie “Christmas Festival of Ice” drew 3.16 million viewers and a 0.4, down a little from the prior week’s offering but still very solid.
