It was a night of premieres in the Wednesday primetime ratings last night.
On FOX, “Masterchef” kicked off its ninth season with a 1.0 average rating in adults 18-49 across its 2-hour runtime, down just one-tenth from the 1.1 that its season 8 premiere scored last year. Similarly, the season 10 premiere of NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” (1.2) was down two-tenths from the 1.4 of its season 9 premiere.
The series premiere of “Reverie” rounded out the night for NBC with a 0.6 and 2.90 million viewers. Meanwhile, it was a night of “Modern Family,” “The Goldbergs,” and “American Housewife” encores on ABC.
CBS’ “Code Black” returned from a week off with 2 back-to-back episodes last night as well, both of which scored 0.7, down just one-tenth from its previous episode’s 0.8.

Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
