‘FAMILY FEUD’ SHATTERS RATINGS RECORDS AGAIN
Los Angeles, CA, Feb. 11, 2014 – Nationally syndicated “Family Feud,” from producer FremantleMedia North America and distributor Debmar-Mercury, has shattered its record-breaking ratings and demo performance set only a week earlier.
The Steve Harvey-hosted game show hit a 6.3 household rating and a 3.3 rating among women 25-54 during the week ended Feb. 2, achieving household and demo ratings not seen for any version of “Feud” since at least 1988, when Nielsen upgraded its measurement system with the introduction of People Meters.
“Feud” climbed 3% week-to-week in households (up from a 6.1) and 6% in the key women 25-54 demo targeted by advertisers (from 3.1). Versus the comparable year-ago time frame, “Feud’ leapt 19% in households and 27% in the demo (as well as among all adults in the age group).
In what has become a common occurrence, “Feud” once again surpassed “Wheel of Fortune” (3.0) and “Jeopardy” (2.8) in women 25-54. During all of last season, “Feud” defeated both of the long-dominant game shows 15 times in the critical demo, while tying “Wheel” and upending “Jeopardy” four times. This marks the sixth win over both this season, in addition to three ties with “Wheel” and wins over “Jeopardy.”
“Feud” garnered more than 9.3 million total viewers and 2 million-plus women 25-54 during the week.
