The ratings-rich got ratings-richer, per usual, with DVR and on-demand viewing in week 9 of the 2016-17 season.

Broadcast TV’s top-rated comedy, “The Big Bang Theory,” and its No. 2 drama, “This Is Us,” scored the biggest gains among adults 18-49 with three days of delayed viewing. Both shows grew by 1.6 points — 3.1 to 4.7 for “Big Bang” and 2.6 to 4.2 for “This Is Us.” The season’s No. 1 drama, “Empire,” also posted a healthy increase, rising from 3.1 to 4.2.

“Sunday Night Football” remained No. 1 overall in the 18-49 demographic despite not budging from its 6.2 same-day rating. “The Big Bang Theory,” however, moved ahead of the game in total viewers. “Designated Survivor” added the most viewers (4.8 million) for a three-day total of 10.32 million.
