NEW YORK, NY – MARCH 8, 2011 – “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” was America’s number one newscast for the week ending March 6, 2011, according to Nielsen Media Research data. The NBC broadcast delivered 9.319 million total viewers, +846,000 more than ABC “World News’” 8.473 million and +3.296 million more than CBS “Evening News’” 6.023 million.

“Nightly” has won for 77 consecutive weeks, and in 124 of the past 125 weeks in total viewers. “Nightly” has now delivered over 9 million total viewers for 17 consecutive weeks. Season-to-date, “Nightly” leads “World News” by +1,165,000 total viewers.

For the week, “Nightly” also led in the key demo adults 25-54. “Nightly” delivered a 2.2 rating A25-54, ahead of “World News’” 1.9 and “Evening News’” 1.5. With 2.714 million A25-54 (000) viewers last week, “Nightly” beat “World News” by +355,000 viewers. This marks the 119th consecutive week “Nightly” has topped “World News” in A25-54 (000). Season-to-date, “Nightly” leads “World News” by +449,000 A25-54 viewers.

As the number one network broadcast last week, “Nightly” delivered a 6.0/12 Household rating, with “World News” in second place with a 5.7/11, and “Evening News” in third with a 4.0/8.

On its digital platforms, “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” continued its strong performance with more than 4.6 million online streams for the week ending March 5, 2011.
