Our friend Brian Stelter at the NY Times, reports that “Rosie O’Donnell’s forthcoming talk show will be squarely positioned as a suitable replacement for Oprah Winfrey“.

The Oprah Winfrey Show’s ratings aren’t what they used to be. She’s now routinely beaten in the ratings by Judge Judy.  Still, she was the #6 syndicated show in the most recent weekly rankings, averaging 6.3+ million average viewers per show.

Oprah is leaving syndicated TV in September 2011, Stelter quotes one of Rosie’s producers saying the result will be a “gaping hole”.

Question is, is Rosie the one to fill it?
