Nielsen has published its “How People Watch – A Global Nielsen Consumer Report” focusing on global viewing habits.  It also spends some time looking at how people in various countries feel about things like HDTV, 3DTV,  TVs with Internet built into them and tablet PCs.

While it was no surprise that the United States was among the leaders in average daily viewing (graphic below), the U.S. was not among the leaders when it came to online viewing, where relatively speaking, the U.S. “under indexed.” 

When it came to online viewing the world leaders were China, Indonesia, Philippines, India, and Mexico (see page 7 of the report linked above).
