CBS has unveiled its schedule for the first part of 2018. It will include a celebrity edition of “Big Brother” that will air mostly opposite the Winter Olympics, the 30th “Amazing Race” and two new scripted series, comedy “Living Biblically” and drama “Instinct.”

What it doesn’t include, however, is “Elementary,” despite the fact that earlier this week CBS extended its season order from 13 to 21 episodes. Its absence here suggests the network will roll out the show sometime in the spring and continue it into the summer.

“Big Brother” and “The Amazing Race” will both air several episodes against the Olympics, saving several scripted shows from having to face NBC’s coverage. “The Amazing Race” will also air two-hour episodes for four weeks, allowing it to fit a whole season into seven weeks.

“Big Brother,” meanwhile, will air 13 episodes — including a couple of two-hour installments — over just 19 days, doing the work of resting a large swath of CBS’ regular programs during the Olympics.

“Living Biblically” will move into the 9:30 p.m. Monday timeslot after “9JKL” finishes its season. “Instinct” gets the 8 p.m. Sunday spot currently occupied by “Wisdom of the Crowd” starting March 11.
