Syfy will continue to be under the spell of “The Magicians” next year: The channel has renewed the show for a third season.

The renewal announcement comes a week ahead of the show’s Season 2 finale, ensuring fans can breathe easy about its future going into the last episode.

Like the first two seasons, Season 3 will run for 13 episodes. It will premiere sometime in 2018, with a specific date to be determined later. Each of the first two seasons debuted early in the year.

“The Magicians” opened Season 2 to series-best ratings of 0.5 among adults 18-49 and 1.29 million viewers the night it aired. For the season it’s averaging a 0.3 in the 18-49 demographic (on par with Season 1) and 810,000 viewers (up 4.5 percent).

With a week of DVR and on-demand viewing, the show rises to 0.8 among adults 18-49, up 15 percent from Season 1’s figure. It’s improved by better than 20 percent among adults 18-49, Syfy says.

“The Magicians” joins these shows that have been renewed for the 2017-18 season and beyond.
