FOX has laid out its premiere schedule for the spring, featuring the return of “Prison Break” to the schedule, a couple of new series — and fairly long breaks for a veteran shows.
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” for instance, will return April 11, three months and change after its last episode. “Gotham” and “Lucifer” will rejoin the lineup on April 24 and May 1, also after taking close to three-month breaks (both shows return Jan. 16 for three-episode runs). That likely means their seasons will extend into the summer.
“Prison Break” will take over the 9 p.m. Tuesday spot from “Bones” starting April 4, furthering the story of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Co. from its initial four-season run that ended in 2009.
New comedy “Making History” will slide into the “Son of Zorn” spot on Sundays starting March 5, which is also when “The Last Man on Earth” returns to the schedule. Unscripted show “Kicking and Screaming” debuts March 9, and limited series “Shots Fired” debuts March 22 along with the return of “Empire.”
