CBS NEWS “FACE THE NATION” FINISHES
FIRST IN VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 ON JULY 12
“FACE THE NATION” is the #1 Sunday Morning Public Affairs Program
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program, finishing first in viewers (2.76m) and tied for first in adults 25-54 (0.6/03) – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news – according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings on July 12. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 76.3% of the CBS affiliates.
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.36m) and tied for first in adults 25-54 (0.7/04). Compared to last year, FACE THE NATION is up +5% in viewers (from 3.19m) and even in adults 25-54.
The July 12 broadcast featured interviews with Democrat presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH), and Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR.) Host John Dickerson also spoke with a panel of analysts including: Wall Street Journal columnist and CBS News Contributor Peggy Noonan; Tavis Smiley of The Tavis Smiley Show on PBS; Susan Page of USA Today; and Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic.
