 Head to Head on Monday, “The Bachelor” Beats NBC’s “The Apprentice” by

11% in Adults 18-49, as the ABC Unscripted Series Surges 17% Week to Week

 

Monday at 10pm, “Castle” is No. 1 in Adults 18-49 and Gains 15% Week to Week

 

Despite Airing Mostly Repeats, ABC is No. 1 on Friday for the 3rd Straight Week

In Adults 18-49 with a Replay “Shark Tank” as the Night’s Top-Rated Show

 

“Shark Tank” Marks its Most-Watched-Ever Repeat Telecast

And Scores its Highest-Rated Encore in 1-1/2 Years in Adults 18-49

 

“20/20-Saturday” Grows by Double Digits from its Most Recent Airing in Key Adults

ABC Adult 18-49 Weekly Ratings Projections (w/o 01/19/15)

ABC’s weekly Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 average is projected to increase 30% to a 1.4 rating in Live + 3 Day and build 38% to a 1.5 rating in Live + 7 Day.

 

Please Note:  More than 1/3 of ABC’s primetime lineup consisted of repeat programming during the week (36%).

  

Monday

ABC ran in a near tie with CBS for No. 1 on Monday in Adults 18-49 (1.9/6 vs. 2.0/6), leading Fox’s original lineup by 6% (“Gotham”/”Sleepy Hollow” =1.5/5) and NBC’s originals by 19% (“Celebrity Apprentice”/”State of Affairs” = 1.6/5). ABC won the night by 23% among Adults 18-34 (1.6/6 vs. 1.3/4-Fox).

 

“The Bachelor” (8:00-10:01 p.m. – 7.6 million and 2.1/6 in AD18-49):

From 8:00-10:01 p.m., ABC’s “The Bachelor” beat NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” head-to-head by 17% in Total Viewers (7.6 million vs. 6.5 million) and by 11% Adults 18-49 (2.1/6 vs. 1.9/5), up from last week’s advantages of 10% and 6%, respectively. “The Bachelor” surged by double digits over the prior week in Total Viewers (+17% – 7.6 million vs. 6.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (+17% – 2.1/6 vs. 1.8/5).

 

·       “The Bachelor” ranked as Monday’s No. 1 TV show in Adults 18-34 and all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

 

“Castle” (10:01-11:00 p.m. – 7.6 million and 1.5/5 in AD18-49):

ABC’s “Castle” ranked No. 1 during the 10:00 p.m. hour in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5 – tied w/ CBS’ “NCIS: LA”), beating NBC’s “State of Affairs” by 3.1 million viewers (7.6 million vs. 4.5 million) and 36% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5 vs. 1.1/3). The ABC drama also finished No. 1 in its slot across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

 

·       “Castle” was up week to week in Total Viewers (+12% – 7.6 million vs. 6.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (+15% – 1.5/4 vs. 1.3/4).

Friday

ABC Friday Prime (8:00-11:00 p.m. – 5.4 million and 1.2/4 in AD18-49):  With encore comedies and a repeat “Shark Tank” from 8:00-10:00 p.m. leading into “20/20,” ABC ranked No. 1 on Friday in Adults 18-49 (1.2/4), tying CBS and NBC (all originals), while beating Fox’s original lineup by 50% (0.8/3). The Net marked its 3rd straight week at No. 1 on the night.

·       ABC’s repeat “Shark Tank” was Friday’s No. 1 show in Adults 18-49. And during the 9:00 p.m. hour, the replay “Shark Tank” beat NBC’s original “Grimm” by 15% in the key sales demo (1.5/5 vs. 1.3/4). Coming off the prior week’s series high in Total Viewers and season high in Adults 18-49, “Shark Tank” turned around to deliver its most-watched-ever repeat telecast (6.3 million) and best repeat young adult number in more than 1-1/2 years – since 5/24/13.

Saturday

“20/20-Saturday” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 2.8 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49): 

ABC’s “20/20-Saturday” grew over its most recent telecast two weeks ago by double digits in Adults 18-49 (+20% – 0.6/2 vs. 0.5/2) and Adults 25-54 (+13% – 0.9/2 vs. 0.8/2), while drawing its largest audience in 4 weeks (+4% – 2.8 million vs. 2.7 million) – since 12/27/14.

Sunday

“America’s Funniest Home Videos” (7:00-8:00 p.m. – 7.3 million and 1.7/5 in AD18-49): 

During the 7:00 p.m. hour, ABC’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos” ranked No. 1 among Adults 18-49 (1.7/5) and shot up week to week to deliver its biggest audience (7.3 million) and match its best young adult number in nearly 2 years – since 2/10/13.

 

“Galavant” (8:00-9:01 p.m. – 4.4 million and 1.1/3 in AD18-49):  

At 8:00 p.m., ABC’s “Galavant” finale spiked week to week in Total Viewers (+29% – 4.4 million vs. 3.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+22% – 1.1/3 vs. 0.9/2) to draw its biggest audience since its debut (on 1/4/15).  

 

·       Based on the available Live +3 Day ratings for the previous 3 weeks, “Galavant” saw its Adult 18-49 TV playback increase with each telecast, building from a +35% jump for its debut over Live + Same Day, up to +38% on Week 2 and +44% on Week 3.

 

“Resurrection” (9:01-10:01 p.m. – 3.7 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49): 

At 9:00 p.m. on its season finale, ABC’s “Resurrection” gained for the 2nd week in Total Viewers (+12% – 3.7 million vs. 3.3 million) and jumped 25% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 0.8/2), equaling its highest young adult number since November – since 11/9/14.

 

“Revenge” (10:01-11:00 p.m. – 3.8 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49): 

During the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s “Revenge” held steady with the prior week in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3).
