ANA JURKA JOINS DEPORTES TELEMUNDO TEAM
Miami- December 5, 2013- Deportes Telemundo announced the hiring of Honduran presenter Ana Jurka as reporter and co-host for a number of network properties, including current events segments featured on “Fútbol Estelar” and “Barclays Premier League” on Telemundo, mun2 and the deportestelemundo.com digital platform. Before joining Deportes Telemundo, Ana was a sportscaster at Telemundo Orlando.
“Ana joins our national team after demonstrating enormous talent in Orlando and in her native Honduras,” said Jorge Hidalgo, Executive Vice President for Sports at Telemundo Media. “I am certain that the strength of her personality, versatility and rapport with the audience will make their mark on our screens right away.”
Ana began her career in 2004 in her native Honduras as co-host of Canal 11’s popular car show “Sobre Ruedas.” In 2007, Canal 54 offered her the opportunity to co-host “Zona Joven,” an opinion program. She went on to become one of the best known and respected figures on Honduran television in “Radicales,” the country’s number one entertainment show. Ana moved to this country in 2012, making her US debut as a sportscaster with Telemundo’s Orlando affiliate and earning a position at the national level with the Deportes Telemundo team.
