The Secret of Crickley Hall premieres October 28 and Supernatural Saturday’s Bedlam and Hex are set for October 6


New York – Tuesday, September 25, 2012 – BBC AMERICA brings fright and fear to primetime in October with the premiere of the bone-chilling haunted house thriller The Secret of Crickley Hall on Sunday, October 28 and two Supernatural Saturday series the second season premiere of horror series Bedlam and an encore presentation of Hex, the acclaimed drama featuring Michael Fassbender (Prometheus), starting on Saturday, October 6.




Based on the novel by best-selling British scribe James Herbert, the thriller begins a year after the disappearance of Cam, the son of Gabe Caliegh (Tom Ellis, The Fades) and Eve Caleigh (Suranne Jones, Doctor Who). As the couple and their two daughters attempt to start anew, they head to Crickley Hall – a seemingly perfect countryside house.  But when cellar doors start to open on their own, phantom children’s cries are heard through the night and a frenzied cane-wielding specter rears its head – the Caleigh’s realize the house comes with a lot more than they bargained for.  Just as they’re ready to move out, Eve Caleigh hears Cam’s cries and all bets are off. Three-hour event The Secret of Crickley Hall premieres Sunday, October 28, 8:00pm ET/PT.


Shifting between 1943 and present day, the Caleigh’s are desperate to find the source of the crying and the connection the haunted house has to their son. Will they find him before the evil that stalks Crickley Hall finds their other children? Written and directed by Joe Ahearne (Doctor Who), this classic haunted house spine chiller is full of scares, yet underpinned by the heartbreaking story of a family needing to heal and ghosts who need to be laid to rest.

The curse continues at Bedlam Heights – the stylish apartment building with a sordid past – as the residence’s restless spirits continue to wreak havoc on unsuspecting new inhabitants. This season, the place tainted by abuse, suffering and death has a new medium.  Ellie (Lacey Turner, EastEnders, Being Human) is on the brink of losing her home, fiancé and career as an EMT. After months of seeing haunting visions of the dead walking among the living, she heads to Bedlam Heights to seek out a former hospital patient who was treated for similar visions. But Ellie has no idea the unimaginable horrors buried under the luxury apartments with beautiful decor and seemingly blissful tenants. Bedlam season two premieres Saturday, October 6, 9:00pm ET/PT as part of Supernatural Saturday.


After arriving at Bedlam Heights – newly renamed Brightmoor – Ellie meets resident bartender, Max (Jack Roth, Great Expectations), who reveals the patient she’s seeking died six months prior – exactly the time her visions began. Max, an amateur ghost-hunting blogger, is thrilled to discover Ellie can see spirits and soon becomes the only person she can turn to for help in figuring out just what is happening to her.  Meanwhile, as the owner of Bedlam Heights, Warren (Hugo Speer, The Full Monty), attempts to gloss over the complex’s past troubles with sexy and self-assured new sales manager Dan (Nikesh Patel), his daughter Kate (Charlotte Salt, The Tudors) decides she can’t stand by and watch any longer.  She knows all too well the horrors that fester beneath the surface after discovering the building’s demons first-hand.  As the asylum’s dark past continues to terrorize residents, they soon realize whatever is waiting for them in the depths of Bedlam Heights, is worse than anything they could have ever imagined.

Episode One – The Long Drop

Ellie is led to Bedlam Heights in search of answers to disturbing visions she’s experiencing.  But instead of finding answers, she’s left with more questions. With only a ghost-hunting blogger as her confidant, Ellie is left to restore the peace of a disturbed spirit at Bedlam Heights.  Meanwhile, Kate returns to discover that not only is her dad, Warren, sleeping with a 20 year-old, he’s hired a new building manager, Dan.  Feeling betrayed and alone, Kate leaves Bedlam Heights for good.

Episode one premieres Saturday, October 6, 9:00pm ET/PT.

Episode Two – Pool of Tears

Haunted by visions of Bedlam Heights’ resident Cass (Kathryn Prescott, Skins) drowning, Ellie warns her off the pool.  But an argument with her boyfriend drives Cass back, and Ellie and new confidant Max are too late to save her. Devastated by their failure, they are unaware that a man with a ‘B’ symbol branded on the back of his head is watching the deadly scene.  Meanwhile, new manager, Dan, discovers a way to lure the Bedlam Watch blogger into a trap. Episode two premieres Saturday, October 13, 9:00pm ET/PT.


Episode Three – Unfaithful

Ellie’s visions of a bride being attacked before her wedding has direct ties to new manager Dan’s tryst with a soon-to-be bride.   When Ellie and Max discover the girl from the vision, is the ghost haunting the soon-to-be bride, they jump into action.  Meanwhile, Ellie turns to the arms of Dan for comfort and immediately regrets her actions. Episode three premieres Saturday, October 20, 9:00pm ET/PT.


Episode Four – Jude

Ellie has visions that suggest the possession of one of Bedlam Heights’ young residents.  She and Max intervene when the possession becomes a danger to the lives of the resident and his brother.  Meanwhile Ellie is left shell-shocked after she discovers she’s pregnant. Elsewhere, Dan’s behavior in the complex turns to betrayal when he beds building owner Warren’s lover. Episode four premieres Saturday, October 27, 9:00pm ET/PT.


Episode Five – Dare

Ellie and Max help an anti-religious man make peace with his past in the hopes of exorcising the ghost of a Chaplain.  Meanwhile, as the tension between Dan and Warren continues, Max overhears a shocking revelation in an exchange between the two. Episode five premieres Saturday, November 3, 9:00pm ET/PT.


Episode Six – Reunion

Max is shocked to wake and find his dead father in his room.  He immediately calls on Ellie for help.  When they’re drawn through a maze of dark tunnels, Max is attacked and separated from Ellie.  When Ellie discovers a life altering truth, she is taken hostage and everyone must rally to save her.  Meanwhile, Dan must save Warren from a suicide attempt. – just in time for Warren to help save Ellie. Episode six premieres Saturday, November 10, 9:00pm ET/PT.





This October, the season one encore of acclaimed hour-long supernatural drama, Hex, featuring Michael Fassbender, Christina Cole (Breakout Kings) and Jemima Rooper (The Black Dahlia), starts Saturday, October 6 at 10:00pm ET/PT.  The six-episode series tells the chilling story of one girl’s exploration of the supernatural and her own sexual awakening at a remote English boarding school.
