Renowned Sports, Entertainment and Media Company, IMG to Produce Event
Sports Illustrated Group’s SI KIDS to Serve as Media Partner
Cartoon Network is announcing its first foray into the broadcast awards arena with Cartoon Network’s Hall of Game. Premiering in early 2011, this high-energy, multi-platform experience will let viewers decide who’s got game, by honoring their favorite sports stars and sports moments of the year. This first-of-its-kind, sports award event for kids, is created and produced by IMG Media, the production arm of global sports, entertainment and media company, IMG. The Sports Illustrated Group’s SI KIDS franchise will be serving as the official media partner and the show will also feature SI KIDS’ SportsKid of the Year Award.
From the red carpet, to the never-before-seen stunts and surprises on stage, this unconventional celebration will be led by a celebrity host and feature icons from television, film, music and sports, as kids experience an evening of humor and fun at the most raucous and biggest sports awards show ever presented on television.
“This type of event is part of Cartoon Network’s DNA and continues our mission to give kids the type of programming that they can’t find anywhere else,” said Stu Snyder, president and chief operating officer of Turner Broadcasting Inc.’s Animation, Young Adults & Kids Media. “Working with IMG, Sports Illustrated and Turner Sports, who have some of the strongest partnerships in the sports arena, will help us produce an exciting, action-packed and star-filled event.”
Cartoon Network’s Hall of Game will also be supported by a long-lead, robust marketing and promotional campaign executed across all media platforms, including on-air, digital, radio, wireless, print, social media, VOD and gaming.
