Morning News Broadcast to Post Gains in Viewers

 

 

CBS THIS MORNING

 

            CBS THIS MORNING posted the largest audience in the time period for a CBS network morning news broadcast since the start of CBS’s morning news electronic records (prior to at least 1993-1994), according to Nielsen most current ratings for the 2014-2015 television year. The broadcast also matched its performance with adults 25-54 from a year ago, and was the only broadcast network to do so. CBS THIS MORNING delivered more than three million viewers for the second consecutive year and was the only network morning news broadcast to post year-to-year gains in viewers.

 

            CBS THIS MORNING was in the closest competitive position (for any CBS morning news broadcast) with “Today” since the 1993-1994 television year and since the start of CBS’s morning news electronic records (prior to at least the 1993-1994 season) in adults 25-54. CBS THIS MORNING was in the closest competitive position (for any CBS morning news broadcast) with “GMA” since the 2009-2010 television year in viewers and since 2011-2012 in adults 25-54.

           

            CBS THIS MORNING was the only network morning news program to post year-to-year gains this week among viewers (+15%, 3.34m from 2.91m) compared to a year ago.  CBS THIS MORNING gained +430,000 viewers compared to the same week last year and closed the viewership gap with the Today Show by half a million viewers, and cut the deficit with GMA by 880,000 viewers according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Sept. 18.

CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY was up year-to-year by +11% in viewers (2.02m from 1.83m) and +25% in adults 25-54 (0.5/04 from 0.4/03), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sept. 19

For the 2014-2015 television year, most current, CBS THIS MORNING: SATURDAY was up +9% in viewers (2.07m from 1.89m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.5/04) compared to last year.  For the television year, CBS THIS MORNING posted the largest audience for a CBS Saturday morning news program to date.
