|UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – April 20, 2012 – Brace yourselves as “The Lady Killer” himself, Coach CeeLo Green, entertains audiences as only he can in a world premiere performance of his new single, “Fight to Win,” on NBC’s “The Voice” Performance Show, Monday, April 23 (8-10 p.m. ET). CeeLo takes the stage not once, but twice! As previously announced, CeeLo will also perform alongside the artists on his team for the first time this season.
Then, the top eight semifinalists will be determined as one more artist from Teams Adam and CeeLo are sent home on “The Voice” Elimination Show, Tuesday, April 24 (9-10 p.m. ET). In the fourth of six Elimination Shows, the artist who receives the most viewer votes on Teams Adam and CeeLo from the previous night’s Quarterfinal Performance Show and survives the instant elimination, will be saved and guaranteed a spot in the Semifinals. Meanwhile, the bottom two artists on both teams must each perform an additional last chance song in a fight for survival. Coaches Adam Levine and CeeLo will then be put on the spot to save one more member of their team to move into the Semifinals, thereby eliminating the other artist.
The four artists who survive the eliminations will join Erin Willett @erin_willett and Jermaine Paul @jermainepaul from Team Blake, and Chris Mann @IamChrisMann and Lindsey Pavao @Lindsey Pavao from Team Christina who’ve already advanced to the Semifinals.
In a special performance, “The Voice” welcomes singer/songwriter Florence + the Machine who performs her hit single, “No Light, No Light,” off her latest album, “Ceremonials.” Accompanying her will be the artists from Team CeeLo.
“The Voice” is a vocal competition show featuring celebrity musician coaches Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Carson Daly hosts and serves as producer, and Christina Milian serves as social media correspondent. The show’s innovative format features three stages of competition: the first begins with the blind audition, and then the competition enters into a battle phase, and finally, the live performance shows. In the end, each coach will have one star artist left ready to compete against the other teams’ finalists to be named “The Voice” – the winner will receive the grand prize of a recording contract.
“The Voice” is a presentation of One Three Inc. (a Hearst/Mark Burnett company), Talpa Media USA Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. The series is created by John de Mol, who executive-produces along with Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Stijn Bakkers and Lee Metzger.
