Network Delivers Yet another Winning Quarter
Miami, Florida, September 29, 2010 – Continuing to build on what has been the network’s most watched year ever, Discovery en Español (DSCE) posted its highest Q3 ever since being measured in 2005 in HHs, A18-49, M18-49, and W18-49. Viewers continued to flock to Discovery en Español for another successful quarter, even while up against popular sports tournaments including the Copa Libertadores semifinals and finals.
The third quarter’s growth over Q3 2009 was significant, with double digit increases in HHs (+28%), A18-49 (+28%), and M18-49 (+42%). The W18-49 demographic also saw an increase of 7% in this same time period.
“These results build on a growth trend that position our brand as a clear leader in Hispanic Pay-TV. Sunday 08/08 at 10 pm (delivered 137K A18-49). Ranked as the #1 Pay-TV Network in its time period, beating broadcasters TV Azteca and Estrella TV among all primary demos.
Exodus: Biblical Mysteries Explained
Sunday 09/26 at 10pm (delivered 140K A18-49). Ranked #1 in its time period, beating broadcaster Estrella TV across the board.
The top contender for Discovery en Español in the series category in Q3 ’10 was:
DSCE’s Saturday’s – Crudo y Sin Censura
Saturdays at 10 pm (delivered 77K A18-49 on average). Ranked as the #1 Pay-TV Network in its time period across the board, beating broadcasters TV Azteca and Estrella TV among A18-49 and M18-49.
The debut of Norte A Sur (Sat 09/25 at 9:30 pm), a network original series based on a product integration project with Levi Strauss, topped Pay-TV in its time period among Men 18-49 and ranked #2 among Adults 18-49. The opening night brought in a solid 100K Adults18-49 viewers and 81K Men18-49, for a promising start to the series and a great close to the quarter.
