Home to the week’s Top 2 scripted cable telecasts with animated feature Cars and Sunday’s original Hannah Montana, Disney Channel qualified as cable’s No. 1 network in Prime in Total Viewers. Growing its audience by an impressive 24% week to week, this week stood as the net’s most-watched week in nearly 5 months (since week of 10/20/08).
Among target kids, owning the week’s Top 3 telecasts on all TV with key properties Hannah Montana, Sonny With a Chance and Wizards of Waverly Place, Disney Channel extended its streak as the No. 1 cable network in Prime to 206 consecutive weeks in Kids 6-11 and to 204 weeks in Tweens 9-14.
The No. 1 scripted telecast on all cable in Total Viewers, Sunday’s Hannah Montana delivered the series’ largest audience for an original episode in almost 4 months. In key kids, Hannah ranked a strong No. 2 in Kids 6-11 and No. 3 in Tweens 9-14 among all TV offerings.
Also on Sunday, Sonny with a Chance hit a series high in Tweens 9-14, qualifying TV’s #1 telecast for the week, up a notable 13% week to week. In Kids 6-11, “Sonny” matched its series high, ranking No. 3 versus all TV telecasts.
Leading out of “Sonny”, an all new Wizards of Waverly Place stood as the week’s No. 1 telecast on all TV in Kids 6-11, and placed a competitive No. 2 in Tweens 9-14.
The week’s No. 1 animated TV telecast, Phineas and Ferb delivered its highest Tween 9-14 rating since its series launch in February 08 and posted the show’s best Kid 6-11 numbers in 6 months.
Playhouse Disney’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse enjoyed another solid week ranking among the Top 10, placing No. 4 versus all TV programs in Kids 2-5, marking the series’ 20th straight week placing among the upper echelon.
