For the week of June 10, 2013, Disney Channel soared to 23 week highs in Total Day in key demos, ranking as cable TVs #1 network in Total Viewers for the 2nd consecutive week and seeping major youth demos Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 for the 3rd straight week. Disney Channel more than doubled Nickelodeon in Tweens and scored its biggest competitive advantage in 10 weeks in Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11. Overall, the network delivered the week’s Top 10 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 and 48 of the Top 50 in Tweens, including the Top 2.
In its first week of daily airings, Disney Juniors Sofia the First on Disney Channel ranked as cable TVs #1 series in Kids 2-5 and Girls 2-5 and cable TVs #1 preschool cable TV series in Total Viewers and Women 18-49. Friday’s all new Sofia the First, which kicked off the summer-long ‘Pirates and Princess’
event, became the series #2 original telecast on record in Total Viewers, #1 original telecast in Boys 2-5 and hit 2-month highs in Kids 2-5 and Girls 2-5. Overall, the block delivered 2 of the week’s Top 3 cable TV series in Kids 2-5, Top 3 in Girls 2-5 and Top 4 preschool cable TV series in Total Viewers.
24-hour Disney Junior Channel stood as the #1 preschool cable TV network for the 11th consecutive week in Kids 2-5 and Boys 2-5 – each week since reporting public ratings – and was #1 for the 10th time in the previous 11 weeks in Total Viewers. Competitively, Disney Junior out-delivered Nick Jr. by double digits and Sprout by triple digits in key categories.
