First Report to Air Monday, October 11

Daytime Emmy® Award winner and “The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck will join ABC’s “Good Morning America” as a contributor, covering hot-button family, lifestyle and child-rearing issues for the morning broadcast. Her first report, which will air on Monday, October 11, will look at kids and tattoos – the dangers and the alternatives, as well as how parents should handle kids who come to them begging for one. Hasselbeck will also look at the growing trend of parents and kids getting tattoos together.

“I am thrilled to join the ‘Good Morning America’ team, and I am thankful for this opportunity to raise awareness and explore the most important issues facing parents and children,” said Hasselbeck.

“Elisabeth brings a very distinctive style and unique perspective that fits well with the broadcast,” said Executive Producer Jim Murphy.

Hasselbeck joined ABC’s “The View” as a co-host in November 2003. In May 2009, “The View” hosts were chosen as one of the “100 Most Influential People in the World” by Time, and in July 2009 Forbes ranked “The View” hosts No. 11 among “30 of the Most Influential Women in Media.” While on the show, Hasselbeck has interviewed everyone from President Barack Obama — in an historic first-time appearance by a sitting President on a Daytime talk show — to the most well-known celebrities and entertainers.

Hasselbeck is the author of the New York Times bestseller “The G-Free Diet” and a designer of a women’s apparel line for QVC: “Elisabeth Hasselbeck for Dialogue.” She previously was host of the Style Network’s “The Look for Less,” where she helped viewers find designer styles at bargain prices.

She resides in New York City with her husband, Tim Hasselbeck, ESPN NFL analyst and former NFL quarterback, and their three children, Grace, Taylor and Isaiah.

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m., ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
