For Third Straight Week “Good Morning America” 

Reduces Weekly Demo Gap with “Today”


“GMA” Has Largest Total Viewing Audience Growth

Among the Three Morning Shows Year to Year


For the week of March 8, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.65 million Total Viewers and a 1.5/11 among Adults 25-54. Week to week, “GMA” increased (+10,000) among Adults 25-54.

For the third straight week, “GMA” reduced the weekly demo (620,000) gap with NBC’s “Today.” The Adults 25-54 gap was -9% smaller week to week. Year to year, “GMA” reduced “Today’s” Total Viewer lead (930,000) by -9%.

Year to year, “GMA” increased its Total Viewer (+6%) audience more than any broadcast morning show. Also year to year, “GMA’s” Adults 25-54 and Total Viewer leads over CBS’ the “Early Show” were larger (+20% & +27% respectively).

For its first 13 weeks, “GMA’s” new anchor team continues to outperform its season-to-date average. The program is up +5% (+90,000) among Adults 25-54 and +3% (+150,000) among Total Viewers. For those 13 weeks, the demo (720,000) & Total Viewer gaps (1,270,000) between ABC and NBC are smaller by -3% & -2% respectively, compared to the season-to-date gap. Additionally, “GMA’s” demo (750,000) & Total Viewer (1,710,000) leads over the “Early Show” are up +9% and +7% respectively, versus season to date.

The Emmy Award-winning morning news program, featuring the anchor team of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Sam Champion and Juju Chang, airs live Monday through Friday from 7:00-9:00 a.m.. ET on the ABC Television Network. Jim Murphy is the senior executive producer and Tom Cibrowski is the executive producer of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
