Delivering Americana in New HISTORY Series

Series to Debut in 2010

Lewis and Clark had nothing on Larry the Cable Guy. From the Oregon Trail to the Grand Canyon, crossing the Delaware and searching for gold in the hills of California, Larry is setting out to explore the country, and he’s bringing his unique brand of all American fun along for the ride in a highly entertaining take on history. The 13 episode Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy (w.t.), is slated to premiere in 3Q 2010. The announcement was made today by Nancy Dubuc, President and General Manager, HISTORY.

In each episode of Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy (w.t.), Larry will visit various sites across the country revealing bits of real history while immersing himself in new and different lifestyles, jobs and hobbies that celebrate the American experience. The result: an informative new approach to history that will be as memorable as it is quirky.

“Larry the Cable Guy wows audiences across the country with his unique brand of humor and quirky take on America, said Dubuc. “We are thrilled to welcome him to HISTORY in what promises to be a genre-busting series that takes a look at history like you’ve never seen it before.”

Larry the Cable Guy is a cultural icon. After years of working the comedy circuit he was propelled to superstardom as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour (along with Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall). Ticket sales, merchandising, books, comedy records, and movies earned him a spot on Forbes’ Top 100 Celebrity Money-Makers list in 2007.

Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy (w.t.) is produced for HISTORY by Pilgrim Films & Television and Parallel Entertainment. Executive Producers for HISTORY are Nancy Dubuc, David McKillop and Dirk Hoogstra. Craig Piligian is Executive Producer for Pilgrim Films & Television. For Parallel Entertainment, J.P. Williams is Executive Producer and Larry the Cable Guy is Executive Producer. The deal was orchestrated by Creative Artists Agency on behalf of the Larry the Cable Guy.
