NEW YORK, NY (July 26, 2011) – To celebrate the life and musical legacy of Amy Winehouse, MTV is set to air a special dedicated to the soulful singer and her fans this Wednesday, July 27th at 6:30 PM ET / PT. Originally filmed in April 2007, this intimate performance features an introspective Winehouse standing on the verge of superstardom during a rare U.S. television appearance as she graced the MTV studio stage for the first time as part of the music series, “45th at Night.” This performance gives fans a look at the awe inspiring talent and soul of Amy Winehouse at the onset of her career as the world just began to realize the depth and power of her voice, sound, and musical genius.
Backed by the The Dap-Kings as well as a sizzling collaboration with Mos Def on “Love Is a Losing Game,” Winehouse fans will be treated to innovative live renditions of her classic hits including “Rehab,” “Back To Black,” “Me & Mr. Jones,” and “You Know I’m No Good” during this concert special.
