TELEMUNDO MEDIA’S “LA VOZ KIDS” RANKS AS #1 REALITY SHOW PREMIERE IN NETWORK HISTORY DELIVERING NEARLY 1.7 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS, UP 74% VS. SEASON TO DATE
The Much-Anticipated Reality Show Ranked #1 in Miami, Regardless of Language; #3 in New York Outperforming Univision, FOX and CW; and #1 in Phoenix and Denver Among Spanish-Language stations, among adults 18-49
MIAMI – May 6, 2013 –Last night, the two-hour premiere of Telemundo Media’s much-anticipated reality show “La Voz Kids” (7PM ET) ranked as the #1 reality show premiere in Telemundo’ s history averaging 1,695,000 total viewers, +74% vs. season-to-date in the time period, and 873,000 adults 18-49, +60% vs. season-to-date in the time period, according to Nielsen. Hosted by TV personality Daisy Fuentes and entertainment host Jorge Bernal, and featuring expert celebrity music coaches Paulina Rubio, Prince Royce and Roberto Tapia, the premiere of “La Voz Kids” reached a cumulative audience of 3,560,000 total viewers and 1,835,000 adults 18-49.
Locally, the premiere delivered a strong performance among adults 18-49 across the Telemundo owned and operated stations. In Miami, the premiere ranked #1 across all stations regardless of language and in New York, it ranked #3 regardless of language, outperforming Univision, FOX and CW. The premiere also ranked as the highest Spanish-language program in its time period in Phoenix and Denver.
In the social media front, the premiere ranked as the #1 Hispanic TV Broadcaster show on the Trendrr SocialTV chart with over 42,673 Social Interactions, more than tripling Univision’s social media performance (13,394) with “Nuestra Belleza Latina.”
A wide variety of young talented singers from across the country took the “La Voz Kids’” stage to display their best singing qualities in front of the demanding coaches across a variety of musical styles. Following the enormous success of NBC’s “The Voice” in the U.S. and across international markets, the global hit competition features young kids between 7 and 14 years old competing through thrilling blind auditions, followed by the battle rounds and live shows. The winner of “La Voz Kids” will receive a recording contract and a cash prize to support his/her education.
“La Voz Kids” is a presentation of Talpa Media USA Inc. The show is created by John de Mol, who will executive-produce along with Stijn Bakkers and Katrina Fernandez.
