Súper Clásico Match-up of Club América vs. Chivas de Guadalajara Reaches 4.2 Million Viewers and Showcases Liga MX Rivalry on the Univision Network

Saturday Broadcast is Most-Viewed LMX Regular Season Match on Univision of 2013 Among Adults 18-49
MIAMI – OCTOBER 8, 2013 – Univision Deportes, the sports arm of Univision Communications Inc., the leading media company serving Hispanic America, today announced that its live coverage of the Club América vs. Chivas de Guadalajara fútbol match on Saturday was a huge hit with soccer fans and Univision Network viewers. In fact, the showdown between Liga MX’s biggest rivals and two most successful teams – each with 11 league titles – was the most-viewed of the 41 regular season LMX matches broadcast across Univision in 2013 to date reaching 4.2 million Viewers 2+ who tuned in to all or part of the match and averaged 1.1 million viewers Adults 18-49 during the broadcast (5:50 p.m. to 8:02 p.m. ET).  Additionally, it out-performed other notable sporting events telecast last week, including beating two MLB playoff games and nearly doubling the opening game of the NHL season.

Univision Deportes’ “Classics Weekend” kicked off on Saturday with the thrilling duel traditionally known as “El Súper Clásico” (The Super Classic), as Club América defeated Chivas de Guadalajara 2-0 to maintain its first place position in the current standings of the League’s Apertura 2013 season. In addition to the above, the telecast was the most-viewed LMX regular season match on any Univision network since October 6, 2012, when a showdown between same two teams averaged 1,163,000 Adults 18-49.

Coverage of the Club América vs. Chivas de Guadalajara fútbol match made Univision the #1 broadcast station during the time period among 2:
·         Among Total Viewers 2+ in Los Angeles and Dallas (tie)
·         Among Adults 18-49 in Los Angeles, Dallas and Sacramento
·         Among Adults 18-34 in Los Angeles, New York (tie), Houston (tie), Dallas and Sacramento

Additionally, Univision was the #2 ranked broadcast station in the time period among 2:
·         Among Total Viewers 2+ in Phoenix and Sacramento
·         Among Adults 18-49 in New York (tie), Miami (tie), Houston, Chicago, San Francisco and Phoenix
·         Among Adults 18-34 in Miami (tie), Chicago and Phoenix
