“MTV2’S GUY CODE” FINISHES FIRST SEASON AS HIGHEST-RATED SERIES IN NETWORK’S HISTORY
Network Sees +55% Increase with Coveted M12-34 Demo and Massive +188% Increase with Male Teens
NEW YORK, N.Y. (January 19, 2012) —MTV2’s new original series “Guy Code” closed out its first season reaching nearly 4 million people and taking the title of the network’s highest-rated series in history among P12-34 and M12-34. Throughout the season, the series posted significant time period increases among MTV2’s core MALE-ENNIAL demo with a +55% among M12-34 and massive +188% among male teens, as well as +44% among P12-34.
Additional Series Highlights:
- The season finale of “Guy Code” (01/17/2012) drove MTV2 to its highest rated day since July 2011, delivered significant week-to-week gains among male teens (+74%) and P18-24 (+18%) and scored a .34 among P12-34 and .35 among M12-34.
- The social media discussion around the season finale prompted @MTV_2 and #GuyCode to the #4 spot for most social program of the night, according to SocialGuide.
- The series premiere (11/15/2011) marked the most watched premiere ever among P12-34 on MTV2, and improved its second week (11/22/2011) with a +51% increase, garnering the biggest P12-34 audience ever for a MTV2 original series telecast.
“MTV2’s Guy Code” has given viewers the ins and outs of the special code that exists between bros, told through talking-head style commentators, absurd humor, and funny and inappropriate animation. The show features today’s pop culture entertainers, top comics, rappers and specialized experts.
The series was developed by Ryan Ling who also serves as Executive Producer. Paul Ricci and Darin Byrne are Executive Producers for MTV2. Andrew Stuckey is Producer. The series is an original production by Viacom Media Networks.
