32 Million Viewers Make FOX’s Eagles-Cowboys Thanksgiving Day Game Most-Watched Show of Fall TV Season

 

Games Rank as Four Most-Watched Shows of Week

 

Highest Avg. Thanksgiving Day Viewership Since 1998

 

Games Top Local Ratings in 27 NFL Markets

 

Exciting divisional matchups and the Thanksgiving tradition of family, food and football had fans tuned into NFL games in record numbers.

 

NFL programming accounted for the top four and five of the top six shows of the week. The FOX Thanksgiving game (Eagles-Cowboys) was watched by an average of 32.0 million viewers topping all programs for the week (Nov. 24 – Nov. 30) and ranking as the most-watched show of the fall TV season.

 

The CBS Sunday national telecast (mostly Patriots-Packers) was the second most-watched show of the week with an average of 30.9 million viewers and ranks as the second most-watched show of the fall TV season.

 

The CBS Thanksgiving game (mostly Bears-Lions) was the third most-watched show of the week with an average of 29.4 million viewers. 

 

NBC’s Seahawks-49ers Thanksgiving night game was the week’s most-watched primetime show averaging 22.9 million viewers and NBC’s Sunday Night Football (Broncos-Chiefs) drew an average of 21.1 million viewers.

 

The three-game Thanksgiving Day average of 28.4 million viewers is the highest Thanksgiving Day average since 1998 (29.7 million for Steelers-Lions and Vikings-Cowboys).
