Nickelodeon’s iCarly Ranks as Basic Cable’s Number-One Entertainment Show with Total Viewers for the Week
Fanboy and Chum Chum Scores on Saturday Morning with Kids 6-11, 2-11
Nickelodeon’s iCarly scored again as basic cable’s top entertainment telecast among total viewers for the week, coming in behind only ESPN’s Monday Night Football. iCarly–which year to date ranks as the number-one show with kids 2-11–drew 5.0 million total viewers and double- to triple-digit gains against both Nick’s own time period average and direct programming competition from other networks with the new episode, “iFind Lewbert’s Lost Love” (Saturday, Nov. 14, 8 p.m., all times ET/PT).
In addition, a new Saturday morning episode of Nick’s latest animated series Fanboy and Chum Chum—following its Nov. 6 debut as Nick’s highest-rated series premiere ever with kids—scored big with 1.6 million kids 6-11 and 2.5 million 2-11.
Highlights for the week (11/9/09-11/15/09) include:
- iCarly ranked as broadcast and basic cable’s top program with tweens 9-14 (9.1/2.0 million, +49% over last year). “iFind Lewbert’s Lost Love” scored a 10.1/2.2 million rating with kids 6-11 (+29%) and was the number-one live-action show with kids 2-11 (7.7/2.7 million, +26%).
- Fanboy and Chum Chum’s “I, Fanboy/Berry Sick” (Saturday, Nov. 14, 10:30 a.m.) posted double-digit ratings gains, averaging 3.8 million total viewers (+17% in delivery), a 7.4 K6-11 rating (+28%) and a 7.0 K2-11 rating (+25%).
- The Penguins of Madagascar—which quarter to date follows Fanboy and Chum Chum as broadcast and basic cable’s number-two series among kids 2-11—debuted “All King, No Kingdom/Untouchable” (Nov. 14, 10 a.m.) to TV’s number-two spot with kids 2-11 for the week (behind only SpongeBob). The new episode averaged 7.8/2.8 million K2-11 (+37%), an 8.0/1.7 million K6-11 (+31%) and 4.5 million total viewers (+30%).
- Nickelodeon scored a clean sweep as basic cable’s number-one network with kids 2-11, kids 6-11, tweens and total viewers, and drew the week’s top two kid-targeted telecasts (iCarly and SpongeBob) . Nickelodeon averaged 2.5 million persons 2+ (+5%), a 4.0/1.4 million K2-11 (+8%), 3.6/775,000 K6-11 (+6%) and 2.6/559,000 T9-14 (+4%).
