MIAMI – April 21, 2013 –Telemundo Media today announced State Farm as the title sponsor, for the sixth consecutive year, of the 2014 “Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm.” The longest-running and most prestigious Latin music red carpet and awards show, which drew an average of over 2.2 million total viewers on Telemundo last year, will be broadcast live by Telemundo and mun2 on Thursday, April 24 beginning at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Florida. Finalists for this year’s awards include Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Prince Royce, Shakira, Rihanna, Bruno Mars, Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony, Romeo Santos, and the late Jenni Rivera, among others. International superstar Ricky Martin, iconic Italian tenor Andrea Bocceli, global pop music superstar Laura Pausini, Colombian singer and songwriter Juanes and legendary Mexican music band La Arrolladora Banda El Limon De Rene Camacho are just some of the previously announced music sensations scheduled to perform.


As part of the multi-platform initiative, State Farm will use the rhythms of Latin music to encourage fans across America to help kids get the tools they need to discover their musical talents. Every time a viewer uses the hashtag #RitmoDeCambio on Twitter or Facebook, State Farm will donate $1 to the charity Little Kids Rock, the nation’s leading nonprofit provider of free music instruction and instruments to more than 130,000 disadvantaged public school children.


Telemundo and State Farm will invite Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy to encourage usage of the hashtag #RitmoDeCambio during the live red carpet and awards ceremony at the 2014 “Billboard Latin Music Awards Presented by State Farm” in order to help raise money for Little Kids Rock. In return, State Farm will reward these users with an exclusive encore performance the night of the broadcast.  As the show comes to an end, the hosts will instruct participating viewers to visit to view the special performance within a fully branded State Farm digital hub. State Farm will also honor the winner of the “Latin Pop Songs, “Artist del Año, Solista” (“Latin Pop Songs, Artist of the Year, Solo Artist”) award with a congratulatory branded bumper. Additional components of State Farm’s sponsorship include a custom segment on “De Tras de la Fama” and “Un Nuevo Día,” and cross-promotional segments on “Al Rojo Vivo,” sponsorship of the “Billboard All Access” show on mun2, custom web-drivers and tune-ins, online and mobile co-branded banners, homepage roadblocks and a custom skin, exclusive content posted to the State Farm Latino Facebook page and more.

Target is returning as the retail sponsor and will offer an exclusive compilation album titled “Billboard Latin Music Awards 2014 Finalists,” at all Target stores and, beginning April 8. This Target exclusive album features songs by some of today’s most popular Latin artists who have also been nominated this year, including Romeo Santos, Marc Anthony, Alejandro Fernandez, Carlos Vives, Leslie Grace, Wisin, Don Omar, Pitbull, Yandel, Daddy Yankee and Thalia, among others. Sprint, the exclusive wireless sponsor, will extend a special Framily invitation to fans on the red carpet by awarding them with Sprint LED bands that will give them access to be part of a one-of-a-kind performance from Banda el Limon during the awards ceremony. During the show, Volkswagen of North America will introduce a custom tune-in and Mars Chocolate North America will offer a TWIX® Brand congratulatory bumper to the winner of the “Trayectoria Artistica” (“Lifetime Achievement”) category. “El Pulso de Pepsi” will be at the center of the dynamic live social media conversation during the red carpet and award show with live on-air and digital integrations that highlight the top-trending talent at the event. Additionally, in the days leading into the event, Pepsi will be giving fans a chance to unlock video content from rehearsals by using the #Billboards2014 hashtag. Red Carpet hosts, Kika Rocha and Christian Ramirez, will conduct a red carpet interview with Telemundo star Eugenio Siller to encourage viewers to check out the Garnier Style Files and learn about his style, career and his upcoming novela “Reina de Corazones,” and will honor the winner of the “Artist del Año, debut” (“New Artist of the Year”) award with a congratulatory branded bumper. Samsung will be presenting the “Artist del Año” (“Artist of the Year”) award. Finally, viewers tuning in on mun2 will get a glimpse of the stars backstage during the awards via a Hennessy branded one-on-one room.


The awards show culminates the Billboard Latin Music Conference presented by State Farm, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2014.  This conference, taking place on April 21 – 24 at the JW Marriot Marquis in Miami, Florida, unites today’s top Latin music artists and key Latin music industry influencers for four days of provocative presentations, panel discussions, exclusive Q&A’s with the hottest artists, compelling case studies, cutting-edge artist showcases, and exclusive networking events.
