VH1 WILL AIR THE PAST 10 YEARS OF “SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE”

NEW YORK, October 7, 2010- VH1 is scheduling episodes of the past 10 seasons of the live late-night television comedy program, “Saturday Night Live.” Viewers will enjoy the unforgettable moments and music in episodes from 2000-2010 and beyond in this multi-year deal between VH1 and NBC Universal Domestic TV Distribution.
“Saturday Night Live” reigns as one of the longest running network television programs in the United States with nearly 700 episodes broadcast over the span of 36 seasons as of 2010. This week, VH1 is premiering episodes of the hour-long show Monday through Fridays on VH1 at 12pm, 5pm and 6pm ET/PT.
VH1 and “Saturday Night Live” are both known for presenting the best in musical entertainment on television. Some of the musical guests that will be featured include U2, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Taylor Swift, Shakira, Beyonce, Coldplay, Green Day and Kanye West to name a few.
In addition to presenting the best in comedic and musical talent that “Saturday Night Live” is known for, viewers will be able to see the popular sketches that helped to make “Saturday Night Live” the television phenomena that it has been since its creation. Parodies and sketches like “D#ck in a Box,” “Lazy Sunday,” “I Need More Cowbell,” “What’s Up With That?” “Gilly,” and “MacGruber,” and famous impersonations including Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, and Bobby Moynihan as Snooki can now be enjoyed on VH1. VH1 will also air various “Best of” specials, including the “Best of Commercial Parodies” and many more.
Clips from SNL’s iconic “Weekend Update” will be featured on VH1 each week to promote the current week’s episode.
