ABC Adult 18-49 Weekly Ratings Projections (w/o 7/6/15)

ABC’s weekly Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 average is projected to increase 30% to a 1.3 rating in Live + 3 Day and build 38% to a 1.4 rating in Live + 7 Day.

 

Week No. 42 (Live + Same Day)

During the week of July 6, 2015, ABC finished a close second in Adults 18-49 (1.0/4) and ranked No. 1 among Adults 18-34 (0.7/3-tie) and in all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

·         ABC built week to week in Total Viewers (+20% – 4.2 million vs. 3.5 million) and Adults 18-49 (+8% – 1.0/4 vs. 0.8/3).

 

Rankings: ABC aired 7 of the Top 20 broadcast shows in Adults 18-49, including 2 in the Top 3: “Celebrity Family Feud” – No. 2, “The Bachelorette” – No. 3, “BattleBots” – No. 12, “Modern Family” – No. 16, while “What Would You Do?,” “20/20” and “Celebrity Family Feud SP3” tied at No. 20. In addition, “Celebrity Family Feud” (No. 2) and “The Bachelorette” (No. 6) ranked among the Top 10 most-watched TV shows overall.  Further, “The Bachelorette” ranked as the No. 1 telecast of the week in Adults 18-34 and all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

 

Monday

For the 2nd time in 3 weeks, ABC won Monday in Total Viewers (5.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.6/6).  ABC’s “The Bachelorette” was Monday’s No. 1 TV show in Total Viewers (7.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (3rd week running – 2.0/7).

 

“The Bachelorette” (8:00-10:01 p.m. – 7.1 million and 2.0/7 in AD18-49):

From 8:00-10:01 p.m., ABC’s “The Bachelorette” beat NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” to win its 2-hour slot by 5% in Adults 18-49 (2.0/7 vs. 1.9/7) and beat Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance” by triple digits for the 3rd week in a row (+100% – 1.0/4). The ABC unscripted series continued to dominate its 2-hour slot with Adults 18-34 and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).

 

·         “The Bachelorette” was up week to week in Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 18-49 (+5%), drawing its biggest audience on the night since its mid-May premiere and tying a best-since-premiere number in young adults – since 5/18/15. “The Bachelorette” grew from its year-ago telecast for the 6th week in a row in Adults 18-49 (+11% – 2.0/7 vs. 1.8/6 on 7/7/14).

“The Whispers” (10:01-11:00 p.m. – 3.4 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):

During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC’s “The Whispers” held steady week to week with Live + Same Day Adults 18-49 (0.8/3) and the big gainer in TV playback is projected to once again win the hour in the L3 and L7 ratings.  In addition, the show topped NBC’s finale of “The Island” in the hour (3.4 million vs. 3.2 million).

·         On average this summer in the Live + 7 Day data, “The Whispers” spikes 83% over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating (gaining +0.9 rating point). The new ABC drama also adds another 2.6 million Total Viewers (+56%) after 7 days of TV playback, drawing an average audience of 7.2 million viewers in L7.

Wednesday

“Celebrity Wife Swap” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 3.1 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):

ABC’s “Celebrity Wife Swap” was up over the prior week by 7% in Total Viewers (3.1 million vs. 2.9 million) and held steady among Adults 18-49 (0.8/3).

 

Thursday

“The Astronaut Wives Club” (8:00-9:00 p.m. – 4.3 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):

ABC’s “The Astronaut Wives Club” grew week to week by 5% in Total Viewers (4.3 million vs. 4.1 million) and by 14% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.7/3), tying a best-since-premiere rating in young adults – since 6/18/15. In the 8:00 p.m. hour, the new ABC drama (4.3 million) outdrew NBC’s “Food Fighters” (3.3 million) and Fox’s “Boom!” (2.2 million) in Total Viewers, while beating its freshman competition on Fox by 14% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.7/3).

 

·         Up over original drama programming on the year-ago night for the 4th week in a row, “The Astronaut Wives Club” grew over “Black Box” on the same night last year (3.7 million and 0.7/3 on 7/10/14) by double digits in Total Viewers (+16%) and Adults 18-49 (+14%).

 

“Mistresses” (9:00-10:00 p.m. – 3.5 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):

“Mistresses” posted double-digit gains from the prior week in Total Viewers (+17% – 3.5 million vs. 3.0 million) and Adults 18-49 (+33% – 0.8/3 vs. 0.6/3) to score its best numbers since its season premiere 3 weeks ago – since 6/18/15. From 9:00-10:00 p.m., ABC’s “Mistresses” outdelivered NBC’s “Aquarius” in the hour for the 4th straight week and by its largest margins yet, increasing its advantages to 40% in Total Viewers (3.5 million vs. 2.5 million) and 60% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.5/2).

·         Last week’s episode of “Mistresses” nearly doubled its Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 rating, growing from a 0.6 to a 1.1 (+83%) after 3 days of TV playback. The ABC drama increased its playback growth for the 2nd consecutive week (+44% to +71% to +83%) to post a new L+3 playback high among Adults 18-49.

“Rookie Blue” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 4.2 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49):

Up week to week by 11% in Total Viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.8 million), ABC’s “Rookie Blue” drew its biggest overall audience so far this season and held steady with the prior week’s season high in Adults 18-49 (0.7/2).

·         At 10:00 p.m., “Rookie Blue” built on its lead-in (+20%) to take 2nd in the hour in Total Viewers to CBS’ “Under the Dome.” The ABC drama gained audience from its first to second half-hour in Viewers (+2%), while CBS’ competing drama declined on the half-hour (-4%).

Friday

“What Would You Do?” (9:02-10:00 p.m. – 4.0 million and 1.0/4 in AD18-49):

At 9:00 p.m., ABC’s “What Would You Do?” ranked No. 1 in the hour among Adults 18-49 (1.0/4) and Adults 25-54 (1.4/5).

·         “WWYD?” grew over its year-ago telecast (3.8 million and 1.3/4 on 7/11/14) by 5% in Total Viewers and 8% in Adults 25-54.

“20/20” (10:00-11:00 p.m. – 4.3 million and 1.0/4 in AD18-49):

ABC’s “20/20” shot up week to week by 34% in Total Viewers (4.3 million vs. 3.2 million), 43% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/4 vs. 0.7/3) and 40% in Adults 25-54 (1.4/5 vs. 1.0/4).

Sunday

With “Celebrity Family Feud” and “BattleBots,” ABC led the pack Sunday night in Adults 18-49 by 20% over its closest competitor (1.2/4 vs. 1.0/4 – NBC). ABC grew week to week by double digits in Total Viewers (+16%) and Adults 18-49 (+20%).

 

·         ABC’s “Celebrity Family Feud” ranked as Sunday’s No. 1 TV show in Total Viewers (8.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.1/8).

 

“Celebrity Family Feud” (8:00-9:01 p.m. – 8.7 million and 2.1/8 in AD18-49):

In the 8 o’clock hour, ABC’s “Celebrity Family Feud” beat CBS’ “Big Brother 17” head to head by 2.9 million Total Viewers (8.7 million vs. 5.8 million) and by 5% with Adults 18-49 (2.1/8 vs. 2.0/7). “Celebrity Family Feud” built from its first half-hour to its second half-hour by 5% in Viewers and by 10% among young adults, while “Big Brother” declined on the half-hour in both Nielsen measures.

·         “Celebrity Family Feud” shot up over the prior week by 23% in Total Viewers to attract its biggest audience yet and by 31% in Adults 18-49 to earn a best-since-premiere rating – since 6/21/15.

·         Up over the year-ago night for the 4th week running, “Celebrity Family Feud” grew over “Wipeout” (4.8 million and 1.4/5 on 7/13/14) by enormous double digits in Total Viewers (+81%) and Adults 18-49 (+50%).

“BattleBots” (9:01-10:01 p.m. – 4.1 million and 1.2/4 in AD18-49):

At 9:00 p.m., ABC’s “BattleBots” stood as the most-watched show in the hour (4.1 million) and ranked as the No. 1 series for the 4th straight week among Adults 18-49 (1.2/4). The new ABC show was up 8% week to week with Men 18-49
