ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Closes Out 2012 with its Biggest Quarter Audience Ever


With 11 Consecutive Quarters of Year-to-Year Growth, “JKL” is
the Only Late-Night Broadcast Talk Show to Build in Total Viewers

During the 4th Quarter 2012, ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” finished off the year with its most-watched quarter in its 10-year history (1.942 million). In fact, “JKL” scored its two most-watched quarters ever during the 2nd and 4th quarters of 2012 (1.866 million and 1.942 million, respectively). “JKL” was up over the year-ago quarter (1.810 million) by 7% in Total Viewers, marking 11 straight quarters of year-over-year growth, and stood as the only late-night broadcast talk show to build its overall audience. “JKL” also posted solid double-digit increases over the prior quarter in both Total Viewers (+25% – 1.942 million vs. 1.557 million) and Adults 18-49 (+18% – 667,000 vs. 563,000). ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” makes its move to 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2013.


  • During the 4th quarter, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” saw a number of milestones, including its biggest audience ever for any sweep period (2.117 million) during the November 2012 sweep, and its 2nd-most-watched week in its 10 years (2.425 million) during the show’s Brooklyn homecoming week (week of October 29, 2012).
