THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY” IS UP +6% IN ADULTS 25-54, THE DEMOGRAPHIC MOST IMPORTANT TO THOSE WHO ADVERTISE IN NEWS, AND +7% IN BOTH VIEWERS AND HOUSEHOLDS IN FIRST QUARTER 2013 COMPARED TO FIRST QUARTER 2012
THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY” ALSO POSTS DOUBLE-DIGIT YEAR-TO-YEAR PERCENTAGE GAINS AMONG VIEWERS (+10%) AND HOUSEHOLDS (+10%) FOR THE WEEK ENDING MARCH 29
The CBS EVENING NEWS posted its best first quarter deliveries in adults 25-54 since 2009, viewers since 2007 and households since 2008. The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY posted percentage gains among adults 25-54 (1.7/06 from 1.6/06, +6%) – the demographic most important to those who advertise in News – as well as viewers (7.04m from 6.61m, +7%) and households (4.7/09 to 4.4/08, +7%) in first quarter 2013 compared to first quarter 2012.
The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY also posted double-digit year-to-year percentage gains among viewers (6.37m from 5.80m, +10%) and households (4.3/08 from 3.9/08, +10%), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending March 29. The CBS broadcast added +570,000 viewers compared to the same week last year. Editor’s Note: Ratings for the week ending March 29 represent a three-day average (Monday-Wednesday) due to coverage of NCAA basketball on Thursday and Friday. The year-ago comparison represents a five-day average.
