THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY” ADDS +1.2 MILLION VIEWERS COMPARED TO LAST YEAR

THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY” POSTS YEAR-TO-YEAR GAINS IN ADULTS 25-54 (+14%) – THE DEMOGRAPHIC MOST IMPORTANT TO THOSE WHO ADVERTISE IN NEWS – AS WELL AS VIEWERS (+19%) FOR THE WEEK ENDING MARCH 28

            The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY added +1.2 million viewers compared to the same week last year, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending March 28.

 

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY posted year-to-year gains in adults 25-54 (+14%, 1.6/06 from 1.4/05) – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news – as well as viewers (+19%, 7.57m from 6.37m) for the week ending March 28.

 

Additionally, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY closed the viewer deficit with ABC by more than half a million viewers (-890,000 from -1.44m), compared to the same week last year.

 

Editor’s Note: Ratings for the week ending March 28 and the year-ago comparisons represent a three-day average (Monday-Wednesday) due to live coverage of NCAA basketball.

 

Season-to-date, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY is up +7% in viewers (7.27m from 6.81m) compared to last year.
