CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS ON AUGUST 2
“Face The Nation” Is the #1 Sunday Morning Public Affairs Program
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program, finishing first in viewers (3.16m), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings on August 2. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 76.3% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION was up +24% in viewers (from 2.55m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.6/03).
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.32m) and tied for first in adults 25-54 (0.7/04). Compared to last year, FACE THE NATION is up +5% in viewers (from 3.16m) and even in adults 25-54.
The August 2 broadcast featured interviews with Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and CBS News Aviation and Safety Expert Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger. This week’s panel of analysts included Dan Balz of The Washington Post; Reihan Salam of The National Review; Molly Ball of The Atlantic; and Ron Fournier of National Journal. Host John Dickerson also spoke campaign finance with former SEC commissioner Trevor Potter; Matea Gold of The Washington Post; Steven Law of American Crossroads; and CBS News correspondent Julianna Goldman.
