CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” FINISHES
FIRST IN VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 ON SUNDAY, JUNE 22
TELEVISION YEAR-TO-DATE, “FACE THE NATION” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION posted a 2.0/06 with 2.97m viewers, 0.7/04 in adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news – according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sunday, June 22. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 67% of the CBS affiliates.
FACE THE NATION was first in viewers and adults 25-54 among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.
Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers (3.22m) and adults 25-54 (0.8/04). Compared to last year, FACE THE NATION is up +1% in viewers (3.22m from 3.18m).
The June 22 broadcast of FACE THE NATION kicked off with updates and analysis on the situation in Iraq from CBS News’ correspondents Clarissa Ward and Margaret Brennan. Norah O’Donnell, substituting for Bob Schieffer, previewed her interview with President Obama and interviewed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI.) During the second half of the show, Rogers joined CBS News’ security contributor and former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell for analysis and O’Donnell hosted a panel that included Robin Wright of the Wilson Center and the United States Institute of Peace, David Ignatius of The Washington Post, Tavis Smiley of PBS’ Tavis Smiley Hour and CBS News political director John Dickerson.
FACE THE NATION is broadcast on Sundays at 10:30 AM, ET (check local listings) on the CBS Television Network. Mary Hager is the Executive Producer.
