CBS NEWS’ “FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER” FINISHES FIRST IN VIEWERS, HOUSEHOLDS AND ADULTS 25-54 ON SUNDAY, JAN. 12
SEASON-TO-DATE, “FACE THE NATION” IS THE #1 SUNDAY MORNING PUBLIC AFFAIRS SHOW IN HOUSEHOLDS, VIEWERS
AND ADULTS 25-54
CBS News’ FACE THE NATION was first in households (2.3/06), viewers (3.40m), and in adults 25-54 (0.8/04) – the demographic most important to those who advertise in news – according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Jan. 12. Editor’s Note: FACE THE NATION’s second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 50% of the CBS affiliates.
Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION was up +10% in households (from 2.1/05), +20% in viewers (from 2.84m) and +14% in adults 25-54 (from 0.7/03).
FACE THE NATION, season-to-date, is up +3% in viewers (3.35m from 3.25m) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/04) compared to last year. Season-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in these measures among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.
The Jan. 12 broadcast of FACE THE NATION featured interviews with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and New Jersey Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D-NJ). CBS News Correspondent Elizabeth Palmer reported from Baghdad and Schieffer hosted a panel featuring Gerald Seib of the Wall Street Journal, Michael Gerson of the Washington Post, John Harris of Politico, and Rana Foroohar of TIME. Finally, FACE THE NATION hosted former US Airways Captain Chelsey “Sully” Sullenberger, a CBS News Aviation and Safety Expert, on the five-year anniversary of the “Miracle on the Hudson River.”
