CBS Sports Special Highlights New PGA TOUR Stars Making Their Mark
Hour-long PGA TOUR 2014: IMPRINTS presented by Mercedes-Benz airs Sunday, May 4
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (April 29, 2014) – The rising stars on the PGA TOUR are making an imprint on the game in their own unique way, reflecting their diverse backgrounds and the varied paths they took toward becoming elite golfers.
One commonality they do share, however, is a true passion for the game, which has played an integral role in the success they now enjoy.
PGA TOUR 2014: IMPRINTS presented by Mercedes-Benz is a CBS Sports special airing Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. ET that will highlight current PGA TOUR players who are making an impact on the game. The one-hour special, produced by PGA TOUR Entertainment, will precede CBS’s final-round coverage of the Wells Fargo Championship.
Featured players will include:
Jordan Spieth – Spieth, who at age 19 became the PGA TOUR’s youngest winner since 1931, continues to make a strong impression in his second season with five top-10 finishes including two runners-up, most recently at the Masters Tournament.
Jason Day – This Aussie prodigy is a two-time winner on TOUR and has long been recognized for his talent, which has also led to three runner-up finishes in major championships. He recently enjoyed a break-through victory on the global stage by capturing the 2014 World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.
Jimmy Walker – Walker is enjoying a breakout campaign at age 35, leading the FedExCup standings with three victories already during the 2013-14 season. Walker takes us to his home in San Antonio, Texas, where he shares his off-course passion for astrophotography, using high powered telescopes and sophisticated computer technology to capture breathtaking images from the deep expanses of space.
Harris English – The 24-year-old has two PGA TOUR victories and is fulfilling the promise he showed while an All-America performer at the University of Georgia, which in 2011 included the distinction of becoming just the third amateur to ever win on the Web.com Tour.
Jonas Blixt – This 30-year-old Swede’s sensational short game has helped him to two wins on the PGA TOUR, including last year at The Greenbrier Classic. Most recently he recorded a second-straight top-5 finish in a major championship, tying with Spieth for second at the Masters. Blixt offers a behind-the-scenes look at a day in his life at home in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
In addition to these player profiles, PGA TOUR 2014: IMPRINTS presented by Mercedes-Benz will feature Road To Victory, a Mercedes-Benz sponsored vignette profiling Australian Adam Scott’s on-course success and historic victory at the 2013 Masters.
