“CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD” POSTS YEAR-TO-YEAR GAINS IN VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54
An encore broadcast of CBS SUNDAY MORNING WITH CHARLES OSGOOD’s “The Design Issue” posted year-to-year increases in viewers and adults 25-54, and was again the #1 Sunday morning news program in those categories, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for August 24.
CBS SUNDAY MORNING averaged 5.37 million viewers and a 1.3/07 in adults 25-54, the demographic that matters most to those who advertise in news. Compared to the same day last year, CBS SUNDAY MORNING was up +13% in viewers (from 4.74m) and +8% in adults 25-54 (from 1.2/07).
Television year-to-date, CBS SUNDAY MORNING is up +6% in viewers (5.80m from 5.48m) and even in adults 25-54 (1.4/07) compared to last year.
Sunday’s broadcast featured Mo Rocca’s report on the emergence of emoticons; Seth Doane’s look the work of a builder in Bali, Indonesia who crafts homes out of bamboo; Rita Braver’s interview with tennis star Venus Williams about her fashion and interior design work; Allen Pizzey’s trip to an 11th century castle located in the wine country of Tuscany; Lee Cowan’s chat with Ra Paulette, an artist who carves sculptures out of caves in New Mexico; Tracy Smith talk with Will Anderson, co-founder of Salemtown Board Co., who is changing lives while building skateboards; and Serena Altschul’s exploration of the seemingly infinite uses of duct tape.
